Even if an item is a perfect fit for your room, it is useless if it cannot pass through your front gate, corridor turns, or apartment stairwell. Measuring the access route is just as critical as measuring the room layout itself.
Step 1: Measuring the Furniture
When searching listings on FurnitureKaro, ask the seller for the exact measurements: maximum width (from the furthest left to right points), depth (from front to back), and height (from floor to the highest point). For large items like sofas or wardrobes, ask for the diagonal depth as well, which is essential when pivoting the item through narrow doorways.
Step 2: Measuring the Room Layout & Placement
Measure the wall space where you intend to place the furniture. Check for nearby power sockets, switchboards, and window alignments. Crucially, leave enough circulation space. For example, leave at least 30 inches of walking clearance around dining tables and bed sides, and ensure wardrobe doors or drawers have enough room to open fully without hitting other objects.
