How to Arrange a Furniture Inspection and Pickup
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Instructions Step-by-Step
Coordinate the Inspection
Use the built-in chat to coordinate a convenient time. Bring a friend or family member along for the visit.
Verify the Dimensions
Ask the seller for the exact measurements. Measure your doors, stairwells, and hallways to ensure the item fits.
Check the Materials and Joints
Review the seller's material description and inspect the item's visible condition, surfaces, edges and joints. A basic visual inspection may reveal damage or construction clues but cannot conclusively verify the material or internal construction.
Plan Transport Loading
Arrange independent transportation (like a pickup van or suitable moving vehicle) and ensure you have helper loading support.
Pay Upon Handover
Settle the payment directly with the seller in cash or confirmed bank transfer once you are satisfied with the inspection.
Important Notes
- FurnitureKaro does not provide transport, logistics, helper booking, or payment processing.
- Material, construction quality, current condition and previous repairs should be considered together.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Paying transport loaders or sellers in advance before completing the physical inspection.
- Forgetting to measure corridors or entryway clearances, leading to items getting stuck during transport.
Troubleshooting
- If a seller demands an advance deposit before inspection, assess the situation carefully for policy violations.
- If the item is larger than expected on arrival, coordinate with a professional mover to avoid damage.
