Furniture Buying Safety Guide
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Instructions Step-by-Step
Do Not Send Advance Deposits
Never transfer money, deposits, or token payments via Easypaisa, JazzCash, or bank transfers before seeing the furniture in person.
Arrange In-Person Inspections
Inspect the item in person during daylight. Bring a friend or family member along and meet in a location where you are comfortable.
Inspect the Physical Condition
Check joint stability by shaking the frame. Inspect the underside of cushions, and check for signs of damage or wear.
Inspect Materials and Edges
Inspect laminated MDF or chipboard for bubbling or swelling along the edges, which often indicates moisture damage. Visible edges, joints and unfinished areas may provide clues, but buyers should not treat them as conclusive material verification.
Confirm Bank Payments
If paying via bank transfer at handover, confirm that the payment appears as cleared funds inside your bank's official app or account statement before taking the item.
Plan Delivery Logistics
Coordinate loading and transportation directly. Hire a transport service (such as a local loader van or pickup rickshaw) and plan for extra help if moving heavy items up stairs. Consider hiring professional movers for complex, large items.
Important Notes
- FurnitureKaro does not process payments, inspect items, or guarantee transactions.
- Flag suspicious ads immediately using the flag icon on the listing page.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Believing urgency claims from sellers who request immediate deposits to "hold" the item.
- Assuming wood is solid hardwood without checking the joints or construction. Visible edges, joints and unfinished areas may provide clues, but buyers should not treat them as conclusive material verification.
Troubleshooting
- If you notice pests or structural defects during the physical inspection, decline the purchase. You are not obligated to buy.
- If the seller refuses a physical inspection before payment, cancel the transaction and report the listing.
